Prague airport announces new direct routes to Berlin, Yerevan and more frequencies to Dubai and Yekaterinburg

With the start of the 2018 summer season, Ural Airlines, a Russian air carrier, increases the number of flights offered on its route between Václav Havel Airport Prague and Yekaterinburg to up to four weekly connections, operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays by Airbus A320s and A321s with the capacity of 160 and 220 passengers respectively.

easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, has announced the launch of a new direct service from Prague to Berlin Tegel, the city’s central international airport and easyJet’s newest base. Czech travellers can now use easyJet to connect with Germany’s largest city, with fares starting from as little as 524 CZK*. This route will operate three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, starting from 21 April 2018.

Direct scheduled flights between Prague and Berlin represent an important connection for business travellers. Therefore, we are glad that it was possible to replace the discontinued operation of the previous carrier and relaunch the route between Prague and the German capital in such short time, i.e. effective 21 April 2018. We expect the direct flights to be use by over 26 thousand passengers in both directions,” said Václav Řehoř, Chairman of the Board of Director of Prague Airport.

On Tuesday, 27 March 2018, Emirates Airlines announced its decision to add another frequency on the carrier’s Prague – Dubai route. The decision was motivated by the continued growth in the number of passengers using the service since its launch in 2010. The airline will start operating the new flights on the route on 1 July 2018. To satisfy the growing demand of both arriving and departing passengers, the carrier will use Boeing 777-300ER with 360 seats to operate the new flights. All, year-round operated, flights on the route will feature a three-Class configuration of aircraft, namely eight private First-Class cabins, 42 adjustable Business-Class seats and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class.

The announcement of the launch of the second daily rotation by Emirates airlines confirms a long-term interest in the route and ever-growing demand for flights to Dubai. It also helps fulfil our long-term aviation business strategy. The new service will help ensure better connectivity and easier transfers upon travels to destinations in the Middle East, Asia and Australia. Both daily flights from Václav Havel Airport Prague will feature three travel classes and offer increased in-flight passenger comfort from July 2018. We expect the new frequency, operated by Boeing B777s, to be used by over 200 thousand passengers a year,” Václav Řehoř, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, commented.

Czech Airlines adds another seasonal destination on its 2018 summer schedule by relaunching the regular scheduled Prague – Yerevan route effective 8 June 2018. For now, the route will be operated on a seasonal basis until 7 September 2018. Departures from Prague are scheduled twice weekly, on Tuesday and Friday evenings, while return flights will be operated from Yerevan on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the early morning hours.
