PCB's future events
ICCA Research, Sales & Marketing Programme
PCB is attending the ICCA Research, Sales & Marketing Programme in Bregenz, Austria, from 13 to 16 June. The event includes marketing trainings, workshops and business exchange focused on congresses.
AIBTM Baltimore 2012 and Sales Trip USA
From 19 to 21 June, PCB will attend the AIBTM in Baltimore, U.S.A. Prior to this tradeshow, PCB is organising a Sales Trip in order to meet potential clients in Chicago and Washington.
European Fam Trip
From 25 to 29 July, PCB will organise the M.I.C.E. Fam Trip for meeting planners from European countries – preferably Germany and UK. Aim of the trip is to introduce Prague as an inspiring convention and event destination, as well as the Moravian largest city Brno and its surroundings.
New PCB members
Prague Convention Bureau has recently welcomed a new Gold member – Pilsner Urquell Experience Shop in the category of services.

What is hapenning in Prague
Prague Food Festival

From 25 to 27 May 2012, the sixth PRAGUE FOOD FESTIVAL took place in the Royal Gardens of Prague Castle. The area covering more than six hectares hosted 34 best and most interesting restaurants, renowned sommeliers, bartenders and food and beverage producers. Within three days, this significant culinary event attracted 18 358 visitors, which again is more than last year. Attendance corresponds to the maximum capacity of the premises.

Friday’s opening ceremony was attended by the founder of Prague Food Festival Mr. Pavel Maurer and the PFF producer Ms. Monika Maurerova. Mrs. Livia Klausova, the wife of Czech President, under whose auspices the festival was held, opened the festival by the first bite – a cracker especially made by the Organic Bakery Zemanka. The festival was launched by the dance performed by the reigning queen of Easter Island Rapa Nui – Lili Pate and the performance of the Children’s Choir of the Czech Radio.

This year’s motto of the festival was “Think globally, eat locally”. Lovers of first-class gastronomy had the possibility to taste rabbit pate with cherry sauce, stewed lamb leg, carrot purée with herbs, or froth of farmer’s goat cheese with marinated green asparagus and spicy honey sauce and many other delicacies. ... the Strahov stadium in Prague is the largest stadium in the world
The construction of the stadium located on Petrin Hill above the historical Lesser Town started in 1933 and it was opened in 1938. Its total capacity is 200,000 visitors, the seating capacity is 56,000 visitors. Its training grounds area is 200 x 300 metres, which is approximately the area of 10 football fields.
... the first public bus transport in Prague started operation in 1908
On 7 March 1908, the first public bus line from Lesser Town Square (Malostranské náměstí) to Pohořelec (near Strahov Monastery, the Loretta and Prague Castle) started operation. Later, the bus was replaced by tram, and today the passengers use the line number 22 to get to the Prague Castle.

The stylish café in National Street, often visited by former Czech president Vaclav Havel, was opened in 1881.

Intercatering & Brevnov Monastery

The oldest Benedictine monastery in the Czech Republic – a special venue for your event.
The Brevnov Monastery has served as a meeting and cultural centre for over 1000 years. The company Intercatering aspires to continue in this long tradition of hospitality. In the course of almost 20 years of partnership with the Brevnov Monastery, hundreds of meetings of various types have been organised here. The main hall of the Monastery - Theresian Hall - can host up to 200 seated guests. There are other 5 lounges on the first floor that can be used as breakout rooms or as utility space. The largest of them can seat up to 100 guests. At the basement level, there are further 3 lounges suitable for meetings with maximum capacity of 120 guests. The neighbouring old Benedictine wine cellar can be used for lunches. First-class catering provided by Intercatering is offered throughout the premises in the Brevnov Monastery.

Prague Congress Centre (KCP)
One of the largest and best equipped European centres, Prague Congress Centre is definitely a highlight of the city. Situated a mere 25 minutes from the airport, it is specialized in medical and IT conferences, and can cater to any kind of events. The high technical features, flexibility of its inner spaces and the exclusive view from the congress foyers and neighbouring halls makes this modern complex one of the most sought after congress facilities. As far as figures are concerned, the centre can hold congresses for up to 9300 participants in more than 70 halls, reception rooms and conference rooms of various sizes. The useable exhibition area, primarily situated in its spacious foyer, is 13,000 m2. The largest auditorium accommodates up to 2,764 people. Prague Congress Centre has hosted some important international events, including the Annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in 2000, the NATO Summit in 2002 and the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2009. There are 2 hotels in the direct surroundings of the centre: the four-star Holiday Inn with 251 rooms and Hotel Corinthia Towers with 539 rooms, making up a impressive total of almost 800 rooms at walking distance.

IGHC 2012
From 7 to 9 May, the Hilton Prague hosted the IATA Ground Handling Council Conference (IGHC), which is the main forum of the ground handling international management. It associates more than 350 organizations providing or purchasing ground handling services for airlines worldwide. The event was attended by 900 representatives of such companies, airports and government bodies operating in this field.

IFA 2012
Up to 1000 participants attended the 11th Global Conference on Ageing titled „Ageing Connects“ which took place in the Prague Congress Centre from 28 May to 1 June. The program of the conference included the protection of human rights reflecting essential precondition of an efficient response to population ageing.
