IMEX America
From 15th to 17th October, Prague Convention Bureau will attend IMEX America in Las Vegas, USA. During the tradeshow, Prague Convention Bureau will organize the Prague Movie Breakfast for selected US buyers which will take place on Wednesday, October 16. The event will include small competition based on trailers of films shot in Prague. Winners will obtain great prizes donated by PCB members. Prague Convention Bureau will be represented by Jitka Kolářová and Martina Fundaro. Meet PCB at the CzechTourism stand 2507!
52nd ICCA Congress
Prague Convention Bureau will attend the 52nd ICCA Congress which will be held from 2nd to 6th November, 2013 in Shanghai, China. Prague Convention Bureau will be represented by Lenka Žlebková and Dagmar Brožová.
MICE Road Show France
From 13th to 14th November, Prague Convention Bureau together with the Foreign Representation of CzechTourism in Paris and selected PCB members will organize a MICE Road Show in Lyon and Tolouse, France. During two networking events, Prague will be presented as the ideal congress destination with the main theme - Art Nouveau Prague. Prague Convention Bureau will be represented by Markéta Růtová.
EIBTM 2013
From 19th to 21st November, Prague Convention Bureau will attend the global meetings and events expo EIBTM 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. Meet PCB´s representatives Lenka Žlebková, Dagmar Brožová and Markéta Růtová at the CzechTourism stand F70!

Personnel Changes in Prague Convention Bureau
Prague Convention Bureau has recently announced several changes in the personnel area. Besides the recently announced newly established foreign representation North America, the person in charge being the former Marketing & PR Manager Martina Fundaro (formerly Martina Kvašová), the Prague Convention Bureau´s team has welcomed its new member Tzveta Kambourova who previously worked in sales and marketing department of the company GUARANT International. She has been working in Prague Convention Bureau as the Association Meetings Manager since August 2013. More here
Good News from Prague
Prague is awaiting a bright future in terms of congress tourism. Prague Congress Centre has recently announced the upcoming refurbishment of this significant congress venue which regularly hosts the largest international congresses. In addition to this, the proposal of extended incentive support for large international congresses held in Prague has been approved by the City Council. Prague Convention Bureau considers these two steps as essential for its ambitious goals - Prague as a top ten world's congress destination by 2015 and top five by 2020.

…A huge research centre to be built near Prague
In October, the construction of a huge research centre in Klecany, just beyond the boundaries of the capital city of Prague, has begun. The opening of the National Institute of Mental Health is scheduled for 2015. The Institute will be divided to the clinical centre, a research division, training and conference centre with the capacity of 220 persons and a centre for brain imaging. It will examine and treat mental illnesses, as well as sleeping disorders or senile dementia, all under one roof.
…First university in the Czech Republic to teach Aristology
Aristology – the science of cooking and dining – will be newly open to students of master studies at the Technical University of Liberec in the North Bohemia. The Faculty of Arts and Architecture is going to extend its offer with a subject Art of Gastronomy with the aim to teach about gastronomy in cultural context and to produce e.g. gourmet scientists or critics, not only operation managers of hotels and restaurants or chefs.

Past Congresses
AMEE 2013

From 24th to 28th August, Prague hosted the AMEE Annual Conference which was held in the Prague Congress Centre. The first conference of the International Association for Medical Education was organized 40 years ago in Copenhagen and was attended by 40 participants from 10 countries. 2013 was an historic year in the life of AMEE, representing forty years of AMEE conferences celebrated in Prague. The theme of this year’s Conference was Colouring Outside the Lines, where they challenge presenters to cast away preconceived ideas and think whether there are new ways of working to produce future healthcare professionals to meet the needs of society in these times of limited resources. The conference was attended by more than 2500 delegates.

GBTA 2013

From 23rd to 25th September, the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague hosted the GBTA conference (Global Business Travel Association). GBTA is the world’s leading organization associating more than 5,000 members from all over the world with a total annual turnover exceeding USD 340 trillion in spending on business travel and conferences. The members are mainly corporate customers, as well as MICE organizers, airlines, hotel chains, car rental companies, etc. The conference was attended by more than 400 participants and the programme was designed to provide answers to most of the topical questions concerning business strategies and their setting.

WVC 2013

From 17th to 20th September, Prague Congress Centre hosted the 31st World Veterinary Congress. 2013 is a special year as the World Veterinary Association (WVA) celebrates its 150th anniversary. The main issues for WVA are Animal Health, Animal Welfare, Public Health, Veterinary Education and Life Long Learning, Development and Environment/ Climate. The WVC 3013 was attended by almost 3000 delegates from all over the world. The event was organized by GUARANT International.
