Prague Convention Bureau, together with the CzechTourism Foreign Office in Italy, organized a fam trip for representatives of eleven Italian agencies from 24th to 27th January 2019. The group was also joined by an Italian B2B MICE magazine representative. Prague Convention Bureau with its partners lined up a varied programme including site visits to several member hotels and social venues suitable for various events.

Prague Again the Best Meeting Destination of New Europe
Prague became the best meeting destination of New Europe region again, shows the annual ranking compiled by Slovenian Kongres Magazine. Meetings Star Awards ranking, celebrating 10th anniversary in 2018, evaluates the European meeting destinations regarding their meeting infrastructure, marketing activities and a set of other factors. The award ceremony announcing the winners took place on January 22, 2019 at the Conventa trade show in Ljubljana.
Prague Airport Expands Retail Space by Opening a New Commercial Zone with Shops and Restaurant in Terminal 2
Prague Airport has launched operations of a new commercial zone at Terminal 2 featuring a total of 2,200m2. The new area, located right after the security checkpoint, comprises six retail units and a self-service restaurant with a sit-down area. A children’s corner is to follow shortly. As a complex solution, a part of the Terminal 2 Departure Hall’s non-restricted area in front of the security checkpoint will be used for service desks and a waiting area for passengers with disabilities. The new commercial zone project is the airport’s response to a growing number of passengers and represents the biggest expansion of the Terminal 2 retail space since its launch of operations.

Prague Airport Continues to Grow: 2018 Brings More Passengers and More Destinations
Václav Havel Airport Prague has continued to grow without interruption since 2013. In 2018, as per the latest operating results, Prague Airport handled a total of 16,797,006 passengers, which represents a 9% year-on-year growth. Routes to Great Britain were the busiest last year with the greatest number of passengers traditionally heading to London. Barcelona recorded the highest year-on-year increase in the number of handled passengers on the route. Long-haul routes also significantly enhanced their performance, with nearly quarter of a million more passengers compared to the previous year.
