What are your main priorities and goals for the coming year as General Manager of Congress & Wellness Hotel Olšanka superior?
My main priorities for the coming year focus on improving the quality of our services and strengthening our position on the market. I want to make sure that every guest who visits us will have an unforgettable experience. We are continuously investing in the modernization of our facilities, which includes conference rooms and technical equipment. We want our hotel to be technologically advanced and offer the latest facilities for congresses and conferences. We also do not underestimate the sustainability of our business and the improvement of our green practices. In 2024, we will reduce our carbon footprint and increase our use of renewable energy.
Can you tell us about any new projects or innovations you plan to introduce to increase the hotel's attractiveness for congresses and conferences?
We are currently working on several projects to increase the attractiveness for our clients, and this of course also applies to congress and conference organisers. We are planning to renovate our conference rooms to bring them up to modern standards. In our type of operation, there is not a single year when part of the hotel has not been modernised. We would be heading in the wrong direction. We have also completed a pool water recycling project that will save both water and energy to heat it. In the coming weeks, a solar photovoltaic plant will be commissioned, which will allow us to use renewable energy and reduce our ecological footprint. We also plan to expand our catering services as the complete renovation of the hotel's Symphony restaurant will be completed in the fall. I think our regular guests and clients have a lot to look forward to.
What do you think are the biggest challenges facing the hotel industry today and how do you plan to overcome them?
The hotel and MICE industry is facing several major challenges that require a strategic approach. One of these is economic and geopolitical insecurity. To be prepared, we are emphasizing diversifying our income and finding new markets and segments that will help us stabilize our revenue. The rapid evolution of technology presents an additional challenge, but also an opportunity. We are investing in upgrading our IT systems and digital services to remain competitive and offer our guests the best possible service. The growing emphasis on green and sustainable practices is another challenge we take seriously. We are implementing a range of measures such as reducing energy consumption, recycling and supporting local suppliers to meet our guests' expectations while protecting the environment. I look forward to these challenges and I am confident that with the team we have, we will be able to successfully achieve the goals we have set.
