Meetings Prague Welcomed Three Groups of International Event Organisers in May
The end of the spring meetings season in the Czech capital was marked by several fam trips for international event organizers. Thanks to the familiarization trips, they had the opportunity to personally explore the offer of meeting Prague and meet representatives of local service providers. A total of 30 buyers from North America, Latin America and France visited Prague.
Clients from Latin America were the first to visit. From 14 to 19 May, a rich program was prepared for a group of 13 buyers, provided by the Prague Convention Bureau in cooperation with the Czech Convention Bureau, CzechTourism Mexico, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Mexico and the Carlsbad Convention Bureau. In addition to Prague, the buyers also visited Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Plzeň during their stay. A few days later, after the end of the IMEX Frankfurt trade fair, the Latin American fam trip was followed by a familiarization visit for 11 North American buyers. It was organized by the Prague Convention Bureau, together with its member entities, with the financial support of the Czech Convnetion Bureau, from 22 to 26 May. The spring meetings season was followed by a fam trip for 6 MICE agencies from France between 29 May and 1 June, organized again in cooperation with the CzechTourism agency and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Paris and the Brno Convention Bureau, thanks to which participants had the opportunity to, apart from Prague, visit Brno and its surroundings too.
The content of all three fam trips was truly diverse; in addition to the traditional site inspections in Prague congress centers, accommodation facilities and spaces for social evenings, buyers had the opportunity to experience meetings Prague directly through incentive programs offered by individual DMC and PCO companies. Thanks to professional guides, the Prague Convention Bureau team and representatives of partner entities, they explored the picturesque corners of Prague Castle and the historic city center with the Prague Astronomical Clock, Jewish Quarter, Infant Jesus of Prague, Lennon Wall and the Charles Bridge. They also took a ride on a historic tram and vintage cars, explored the city from the deck of boats sailing on the Vltava River, discovered monuments of Czech cubism, learned Czech expressions, and tried what it is like to be a professional tapster at beer tapping lessons. However, activities such as glass candleholders production and a private concert with musicians of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra were also organized.
The French and Latin American fam trips also included networking dinners, during which buyers had the opportunity to discuss the possibilities of cooperation with individual Prague meeting service suppliers in more detail. For the North American fam trip, a B2B interactive workshop was then prepared, including meetings with suppliers who did not have the opportunity to participate in the organization of the fam trip itself. The workshop was designed in very creatively: its participants could try playing violin, and many of them very pleasently surprised by their own performance.
