Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience Celebrates 2 Years!

Interactive audiovisual exhibition of Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience, where the story of the famous Pilsner beer comes to life in a completely unique way, celebrates its 2nd birthday this year. Thanks to a combination of history, culture and modern technology, visitors can watch the creation of the oldest golden lager live and experience it with all their senses.

Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience (PU:TOBE) presents the story of the popular golden lager and the most famous Czech beer. The exhibition is located in the lower part of Wenceslas Square, in the listed building of the former Prague Credit Bank built in 1902.

It brings visitors a unique experience that has been missing in the Czech Republic so far and offers a lot of activities and entertainment. The most popular experience is the engaging educational exhibition about the history of Pilsner beer, the 360° game zone and the Beer Hall. In addition to the exhibition itself, PU:TOBE offers other experiences such as the Tapster Academy or the novel Beer Sommelier Dinner. The space also includes a branded Pilsner Urquell gift shop.

THE ORIGINAL TOUR

Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art technology, the exhibition really appeals to all human senses and visitors can experience the story of beer from ancient times to the present day and discover the Pilsner Urquell brewing processes. It consists of a total of 10 sections where people can, for example, touch or even taste the brewing raw materials, there is also a 360° game zone or tasting bar. During the beer tasting, visitors can toast with the brewer who brewed the world's first batch of golden lager in the Pilsner brewery in 1842. The whole experience then ends in the traditional Pilsner beer hall, where visitors can enjoy a perfectly poured Pilsner or soft drink on the house.

TAPSTER ACADEMY

In the Czech Republic, it is said that the brewer brews the beer, but the tapster makes it. The tapster is the one who makes sure you have the perfect beer experience. Thanks to the Tapster Academy you can become one of them.

The Tapster Academy is a popular experience among Czech visitors, often as a team building activity, a shared experience with friends or ideal for stag parties. Everyone will learn how to properly pour a Pilsner into a Hladinka, Šnyt or Mlíko. The whole experience is guided by an experienced tapster who will share lots of interesting facts about beer. Each participant will also take away a tapster certificate and a personalised gift.

BEER SOMMELIER DINNER

This 5-course tasting menu inspired by Czech cuisine is a great opportunity to expand your beer horizons and venture beyond the boundaries of the much-loved Pilsner lager.

During the tasting dinner, you can enjoy various types of beers from the Czech Republic and other European countries, with each course carefully selected to maximise the flavour and intensity of the particular beer. You definitely won't be bored during this tasting, the whole experience is guided by an experienced beer sommelier who knows almost everything about beers and is happy to share his knowledge in an unusual and entertaining way.
