Prague's Green Oases as an Inspiring Venue for Every Occasion

Prague is one of the greenest cities in Europe. You may know it primarily for its rich history and magnificent architecture, but it also occupies the second place in the ranking of European cities most suitable for nature lovers.

The latest study by Compare the Market granted Prague a beautiful silver position in the ranking, and evaluated European cities not only according to the area of greenery, but also according to air purity, pedestrian paths, diversity of animal species and many other factors.

However, the nature in the city is not just for pleasing the eye, although it certainly contributes to the beauty of Prague. A larger amount of greenery leads to improvements in the quality of life of residents and, in addition to relaxation purposes, it also has a positive effect on the microclimate, provides shade, retains water and increases biodiversity.

There is nothing better than having the opportunity of escaping to nature at your fingertips, and Prague is trying to accommodate this trend as much as possible. As part of the "Greenery in Prague" project, the Technical Road Administration currently manages more than 5,000,000 m2 of grass areas, as well as taking care of trees in tree alleys and orchards, shrubs and flower beds throughout the city. And what is the plan for the future? Continue to expand nature.

The climate crisis also plays one of the decisive roles in the constant care for the landscape -  further expansion of greenery is key to minimizing the impact of the crisis. This is where Prague focuses its attention through its strategy of adaptation to climate change, and heads thanks to it towards sustainability in the long term.

Whether it is Prague's parks, gardens or flower beds, the combination of greenery and urbanism creates an ideal environment not only for local residents but also for organizing various events in the open air.

Events in Midst of Nature, yet in Heart of City

If you are looking for a place to meet with your colleagues or invite your delegates and want to step outside the stereotype of a meeting room and a congress hall, organize an event in the fresh air in greenery. Prague offers countless options, whether for small private events or for hundreds of guests, and we have several tips for you.

Křižík Pavilions

An interesting combination of relaxation near the hustle and bustle of the city are the roofs of the Křižík Pavilions at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. The green terraces, open all year round, are used for various events, private parties and are also a pleasant place to relax for the locals. In the spring and summer, visitors can also use the extensive green areas in the Exhibition Grounds and the adjacent Royal Game Reserve also called Stromovka.

Chuchle Arena

Do you need a larger, unconventional outdoor space? Organize your next event in the Chuchle Arena! One of the most important racecourses in the Czech Republic also serves as a very original venue combining sport and elegance. There are either indoor halls or outdoor large-capacity tents and grassy areas.

Prague Zoo

All animal lovers migth find it interesting to hold an outdoor event in the Prague Zoo. In addition to the unusual environment, Prague Zoo also offers a number of tailor-made accompanying programs, most of which often take place in the education center. It is connected to a covered terrace in case of bad weather. Larger events in the amphitheater of petting zoo can be accompanied by a variety of workshops for groups.

Prague Botanical Garden

A party in the exotic jungle can be organised not only in the Prague Zoo, but also in the Botanical Garden in Troja. An event in the Fata Morgana tropical greenhouse or a theme party in the Japanese garden are just two of the many options that the local botanical garden offers. In addition, you can add a guided tour of wine production of Troja vineyards and a tasting of locally produced wines.

Grébovka

You can also add wine experiences to your event in Havlíčkovy sady. The local Grébovka pavilion provides both outdoor and indoor spaces for a pleasant summer event, where you can enjoy the environment of a shady park after the conference. The area also includes a vineyard with a newly renovated Vineyard Gazebo and a new wine cellar, which offers only wines made from grapes from the local vineyard.

If you decide to organize your next event, conference, teambuilding or corporate party in Prague, offer your guests an unconventional and unforgettable experience in the heart of the city and yet in greenery. Our team will be happy to advise you on choosing the most suitable venue!
