The City of Prague Declares Grants in the Field of Tourism for 2025

  •  Measure II. – to support multi-day events of national or international significance with a benefit for inbound tourism (in 2 categories: II.A and II.B)

Detailed conditions and instructions for applicants are available on the portal of the City of Prague in the section of grants and in the official press release in the Czech language.

APPLICATIONS CAN BE SUBMITTED FROM 16 OCTOBER TO 6 NOVEMBER 2024

“I’m glad that the capital city of Prague is committed to supporting tourism this year and thus contribute to the development of significant meetings that will attract delegates to Prague from all over the world. I believe, our investment will strengthen not only the city’s economy, but also its international prestige and attractiveness as a destination for expert meetings and cultural events,” says the Deputy Mayor of the City of Prague, Jiří Pospíšil.

The program includes two different measures. The first one concerns the support of congresses and conferences in three different categories based on the number of registered delegates: category of larger congresses and conferences with the expected attendance of more than 700 delegates (with a maximum support of 500 CZK per delegate); category of congresses and conferences with the expected attendance of 300 – 699 delegates (with a maximum support of 300 CZK per delegate); and category for the local (national) congresses and conferences (with a maximum support of 200 CZK per delegate).

The second measure concerns multi-day events with national or international significance with a benefit for inbound tourism and for multi-day conference events intended for experts as well as general public with expected attendance of at least 200 delegates.

As in the previous years, the events planned to be held in the city centre or in the course of the main tourist season, will have their evaluation points deducted. This way, the capital aims to motivate those interested to organize events in the less exposed parts of the city and of the year.

For 2025, the City of Prague expects to increase the financials sources for this program by 2% to a total of 21,4 million CZK (ca 854 000 EUR) with the expected distribution of 13 million CZK to the measure I. and 8,4 million CZK to the measure II. The applications can be submitted from October 16 until November 6, 2024.
