We Introduced the Beauty of Christmas Prague to Almost Thirty Foreign Buyers

For the winter season of 2024 we prepared two fam trips for international hosted buyers, during which they had the opportunity not only to get to know the meetings offer of the Czech capital, but also to enjoy the pre-Christmas time in one of the traditionally most beautiful festive cities in the world. Buyers from three overseas markets - Mexico, Brazil and the USA - accepted the invitation to winter Prague.

The first fam trip, which was held in cooperation with the CzechTourism agency and its foreign representation for Latin America, took place from Tuesday, November 26 to Sunday, December 1 and was attended by a total of 7 buyers from Mexico and 11 buyers from Brazil. The group was also joined by a journalist representing Mexico's largest travel media outlet, Invertour magazine.

Less than two weeks later, this fam trip was followed by another one for a group of 11 American buyers. This fam trip was organised by the Prague Convention Bureau with the financial support of the CzechTourism agency just before the Christmas holidays, from Friday, December 13 to Tuesday, December 17.

Besides the site visits at the congress centres, hotels and various social venues, both programs dedicated a time to traditional incentive activities and famous Christmas markets. The hosted buyers had the opportunity to enjoy winter Prague during guided tours of the historic city centre, the Jewish Quarter and Hradčany quarter, including Strahov Monastery, a cruise on the Vltava River, a ride in vintage cars or a historic tram. There was also a tasting of mulled wine with a view of the Old Town Astronomical Clock or a beer tapping lesson with a tour of the Pilsner Urquell exhibition included. In addition, buyers from Brazil were treated to a surprise in the form of a performance of Tosca at the Prague State Opera. For the American buyers, in addition to the cooking lesson, there were also purely Christmas activities prepared such as decorating gingerbread or Christmas ornaments and a presentation of the Czech Christmas traditions. An inseparable part of both fam trips was a networking evening, and in the case of the American fam trip also a B2B workshop with representatives of Prague meetings services providers. As part of the programme prepared by the CzechTourism agency, the buyers from Mexico and Brazil also had the opportunity to visit other regions of the Czech Republic.
