Into New Year with (Old) New Team

After a forced covid break, the meetings industry has slowly returned to normal, as did the number of items on the agenda of Prague Convention Bureau. In order to manage the growing list of activities better, PCB has undergone a minor restructuralization over the past few months. Who can you contact with your questions? Below, we'll give you a hint!

A Permanent Fixture in Lead

The position of Managing Director remains a man's prerogative at PCB. The company has been managed for eight years by Roman Muška, who previously held the positions of member and vice president of the board of directors of the Prague Convention Bureau for almost three years. He thus has the company's agenda in the palm of his hand. If you want to ask anything about the strategic direction or development of the meetings industry, he is the right person.

Every boss needs a reliable partner – with us, Roman's right-hand is Pet'a Karásková, officially the Assistant Director / Member Relations Manager. Her precision and sense of organization keeps the day-to-day operations of PCBs and relationships with our partners in absolutely impeccable condition. Any question about membership belongs to her.

Association + Corporate = Business Events

The biggest change in our company has taken place in the department of association and corporate events. Formerly two separate departments merged into one. Now you don't have to worry about the type of your event and look for which of our colleagues to contact. You can send your inquiry directly to the group e-mail: be@pragueconvention.cz. However, if you still prefer the opportunity of writing to a specific person, contact one of the Business Events team members:

  • the team is led by Míša Smetanová, Head of Business Events. Míša is an expert in association congresses and conferences and the strategic direction of PCB in the field of business events. For over seven years, clients been able to contact her at PCB with any questions related to the area;
  • do you not know where to organize your event, what suppliers to choose, how to apply for a grant support from the City of Prague, or do you need help with bidding? Exactly for you, there are managers: Dáša Zemanová, who joined our team a year ago, and Lucka Řeháková, who will celebrate her first year in PCB in a short time;
  • Martina Fundaro, Sr. Manager, Business Events - North America, who is in charge of the North American market, is a permanent fixture in the business events team. She has been working at the Prague Convention Bureau since 2010, when she held the position of Marketing & PR Manager for the first two years. Martina is a little further away from the office – specifically about 8,000 kilometres separating Prague from Dallas, USA. If you want to get in touch with Martina, count on a time difference of -7 hours.

Cooperation with Scientific Capacities

Almost from the very beginning of existence of the Prague Convention Bureau (in 2008), our Ambassador Program has also been running. To put it simply, it provides a platform for meetings of various experts and scientists involved in the organization of association and corporate events. Since the beginning of this year, Lucka Jalová, Manager, Business Events & Ambassador Program, has been in charge of taking care of our ambassadors. If you have heard this name in our country before, your memory does not deceive you. You may remember Lucy as the project manager of the ICCA Congress, which we hosted in 2017. She took over the activities of the Ambassador Program after returning from maternity leave.

Less Marketing, More Communication

The communications team of the Prague Convention Bureau has not undergone a change in the area of human resources, but it has in the area of the focus of its activities. We still use classical advertising, but online communication and PR play a major role.  Do not look the word "marketing" on the business cards of our colleagues: it has been replaced by the more apt term "communications". Hanka Krejbichová, Head of Communications, has been in charge of the management of communication activities and the strategic direction of the meetings Prague brand for almost eight years, and together with Zuzka Lovitt, Communications Manager, who has been with PCB since 2015, they make sure that meetings Prague is heard about all over the world. If you are interested in options of promotion you can use with PCB, direct your questions to them.

If you have a lot of questions coming across your mind after reading this article, you can find the contact details of each person here. We look forward to hearing from you!
