Clinical Pharmacy Meetings Build the Awareness of the Field in the Central Europe Region
Clinical pharmacy is a discipline that monitors the risks and risk factors for developing adverse drug reactions and helps to prevent these effects in real life. Expert meetings regularly organised for the professional community help to spread the latest knowledge and share information. In the region of Central Europe especially, where there is generally less awareness of clinical pharmacy and pharmacoepidemiological research, congresses play an irreplaceable role. For example, several industry congresses and conferences have recently taken place in Prague: 34th International Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology & Therapeutic Risk Management (ICPE 2018), 15th Annual Meeting of International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISOP 2015) or European Symposium on Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP 2013). All these events are associated with professor RNDr. Jiří Vlček, CSc., Head of the Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles University in Hradec Králové and also former president of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy, which he led for two years.
