US market is Recovering while the World and Prague Celebrate Global Meeting Industry Day
In few hours – on April 8th, the World will celebrate Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), which this year takes on an added sense of urgency and hope. Many industry associations are planning annual daylong events focusing on the meeting and event industry’s efforts to rebuild the business in the aftermath of the pandemic while stressing the economic impact of the meeting and hospitality business and the importance of face-to-face business exchanges. And they are not too far away. SITE, for example, has been holding hybrid events for couple months, and in May they are holding their premier hosted-buyer educational event at Fairmont Austin, which will include hosted buyer sessions and various receptions.
The optional Event Management course at the University of Economics
Summer semester at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE) was concluded in mid May, and so was the master's event management course, launched in cooperation of the Prague Convention Bureau with the Department of Tourism in 2016. Despite the complications associated with the coronavirus epidemic, the whole course was transferred to online environment and successfully closed within the distance learning.
Around 50 European Buyers Attended B2B Fam Trip and Workshop in Prague
Prague Convention Bureau together with partners organized a B2B corporate Prague InSpires MICE Fam Trip & Workshop, that was held in Prague from February 2 to February 4, 2020. The three-day event welcomed 49 European buyers from 13 European countries.

Prague Convention Bureau together with partners organize a corporate fam trip and workshop, that will be held in Prague from February 2 to February 4, 2020. During the two-day joint event, 50 European buyers will get familiar with Prague MICE offer and key local suppliers.
We Said Goodbye to the Meetings Year 2019 With the Ambassadors Cocktail Evening
The last of the Ambassador Program activities in the year 2019 was the 7th Advent Cocktail for congress ambassadors and partners of the program, which took place on 17th December in the Prague Congress Center.
Prague Welcomed Buyers from the USA for the Last Fam Trip of 2019
Prague Convention Bureau together with the Foreign Office of the CzechTourism agency in the USA and its members organized a fam trip for the North American buyers. Fam trip, hosted from December 5 to 9, was attended by a total of 10 buyers joined also by a journalist representing the magazine of the MPI (Meeting Professionals International).
Prague Hosted Two Fam Trips from Latin America
Prague Convention Bureau together with the Foreign Office of the CzechTourism agency for Latin America Region, represented by Petr Lutter, Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lima, Peru, represented by Samanta Sofia Veliz Isla, and Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bogota, Colombia, represented by Milan Rejtar, organized two fam trips for hosted buyers.
We Organized a Press Trip for Nine European MICE Journalists
Prague Convention Bureau together with its partners and members again organized a press trip for European journalists from magazines focusing on meeting industry. In the end of October, Prague welcomed nine journalists from various MICE media. Autumn press trip involved especially newly renovated or opened venues.
Education Seminar for New Congress Ambassadors of the Czech Academy of Sciences
Prague Convention Bureau held one of its seminars for new congress ambassadors. The seminar on “How to run a candidacy for international expert congresses” was held on 9th October at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague.
