New Summer Schedule Offers 9 New Destinations and 154 Direct Scheduled Connections Worldwide

The summer schedule at Václav Havel Airport Prague came into effect on Sunday, 26 March 2017. In the upcoming season, which will last until 28 October 2017, 66 carriers will offer regular transport services at the airport with their aircraft headed to 154 destinations worldwide. Václav Havel Airport Prague will welcome 2 new carriers and Prague will be connected with a total of nine new destinations. More than 20 existing routes will witness service increases.

“After a very successful and record-setting year in 2016, not only have we managed to keep a very broad offer of destinations, but we have even expanded it by nine new cities. Thanks to this, passengers will be able to travel to 154 destinations in 51 countries around the world this year. We see this as a result of our attempts to motivate carriers to develop their air connections with Prague,” Václav Řehoř, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors, commented on the new flight schedule.

This summer season, Czech Airlines will launch regular scheduled flights to Aarhus in Denmark, Malmö in Sweden and Verona in Italy. The capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, will also be among the new destinations offered by Czech Airlines during its summer schedule, whereas the Wizzair low-cost carrier also plans to service the city. The new destinations will also be complemented by typically seasonal vacation destinations in Spain, such as Almería and the island of Menorca added to the regular scheduled offer by SmartWings, a Czech carrier. Compared to the last season and thanks to Norwegian air carries, the offer of connections to cities in Norway will also be broadened. A direct scheduled connection to Stavanger will complement the existing direct routes to Oslo and Bergen. Ryanair will also expand its offer of European destinations by launching a new service to Trapani in Sicily.

Two new carriers will arrive at Václav Havel Airport Prague offering new services this summer season. Effective 8 May 2017, the Flybe British air carrier will increase the number of its flights to London - Southend airport. Prague will thus gain a direct connection to the fifth airport in London, serviced five times a week. Effective 22 May 2017, the Georgian air carrier, Georgian Airlines, will be servicing Prague twice weekly with a direct scheduled connection to its home capital, Tbilisi

This season, the greatest number of routes offered by carriers will head to Italy (17 destinations), followed by Great Britain and Spain (with 14 destinations each). Next in line are France, Russia and Greece with ten destinations connected with Prague by direct scheduled services. Moscow (Sheremetyevo), Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Warsaw will, just as last year, be the most popular destinations with the highest number of connections from Václav Havel Airport Prague.
