Prague Airport Announces New Direct Lines to Hungary, Ukraine, Russia and the UK

Václav Havel Airport Prague presents new direct routes that will connect Prague with Budapest, Kharkhov, Lviv, Perm and London/Luton.

LOT Polish Airlines announced a new regular route to be started between Prague and Budapest. The new flight will be operated up to twice a day starting from the next flight schedule, i.e. beginning 30 March 2020. The year-round connection to the Hungarian capital will be serviced by an Embraer 195 configured for 112 passengers. According to Prague Airport’s estimates, the service could be used by as many as 110,000 passengers in both directions every year. Together with the Prague flight, LOT has also announced five more European destinations to be serviced from Budapest.

SkyUp Airlines has announced the sale of air tickets for two new routes between Prague and Ukraine to be launched 17 October 2019. The carrier will fly from Vaclav Havel Airport Prague to both Kharkhov and Lviv twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. The airline will fly the Boeing 737-800 configured for 189 passengers on this year-round connection. According to Prague Airport’s estimates, the service could be used by as many as 60,000 passengers in both directions every year. This means that starting in October, passengers will be able to choose from among four direct flights from Prague to Ukraine.

Ural Airlines announced that it will operate a new direct flight between Prague and Perm, Russia twice a week, starting 18 September 2019. Passengers will fly to this destination on Airbus A320 with a 160 passenger capacity in about 4 to 4.5 hours, depending on the direction of the flight. Ural Airlines will fly to four destinations from Prague. This will be the tenth destination in Russia that passengers can fly to/from the Václav Havel Airport Prague. “We are very happy that Ural Airlines has decided to open a flight connection from Prague to Perm, Russia. This will be their fourth scheduled flight, which also flies to Yekaterinburg, the Zhukovsky International Airport and to Krasnodar. We expect that the new route will transport over 20 thousand passengers in both directions in the upcoming twelve months. After launching flights from Perm, the Václav Havel Prague Airport will be connected to ten destinations in Russia“ said Kateřina Pavlíková from the Prague Airport Press Department.

EasyJet has announced the launching of a new direct flight between Prague and London. New daily service to London Luton Airport will start on 28 October 2019 and the carrier will fly an Airbus A320 Family jet configured for 180 passengers. With its new winter flight schedule, EasyJet will offer flights to four London airports originating from Václav Havel Airport Prague. Besides Luton, it serves Gatwick, Stansted and Southend. According to Prague Airport’s estimates, the service could be used by as many as 100,000 passengers in both directions every year. The Prague-London route has the highest number of flights per week. In the autumn, the airline will also introduce new service to Geneva that was announced in early July.
