Prague Airport Will Distribute 18 Million Crowns to Neighbouring Communities

As the flights from the Prague Airport have resumed, so has the direct financial support to the neighbouring communities. Through the recently announced transparent grant programme “GOOD NEIGHBOURS”, the Airport will distribute CZK 18 million to public benefit projects.

Detailed grant regulations, including an electronic application form, are available on website www.prg.aero in a new section for the areas neighbouring on the Airport titled FOR OUR NEIGHBOURS. Applications can be submitted until 30 September 2022. Subsequently, the projects will be assessed by a committee with regard to their contribution to the wider community, effectiveness and meaningfulness. Various sports and interest groups, schools, and children's facilities, or environmental, support and other non-profit organizations can receive funding for their activities. And, of course, the municipalities themselves, for which the airport finances are a significant increase in their current budget.

The grant programme complements the non-financial support activities that the airport launched with during the covid period, when it had to abandon financial support for economic reasons. Quality equipment and airport staff continue to help with tree trimming, street cleaning and other maintenance of greenery and public areas in the vicinity. Financial support for language education for primary school children provided by the association of municipalities and districts in the vicinity of the airport - Prague Airport Region (PAR) - will also continue. PAR is an important partner for the Airport in setting up effective support for the surrounding area.

On the occasion of announcing the grant programme, a new website FOR OUR NEIGHBOURS has been launched directly for residents of the areas around the Airport.
