Prague to Host 14th UIA Associations Round Table in 2020
The Prague Convention Bureau is proud to announce that the Czech capital city will host the Union of International Associations’ (UIA) Round Table on November 12 and 13, 2020, at the Vienna House Diplomat Prague. The Prague bid was in competition with four other offers and was chosen as the winning one earlier in 2018.
The UIA Round Tables are organized annually by the Union of International Associations, the research institute and documentation centre established in 1907 and based in Brussels. The Round Tables, that are the core of UIA’s education project, provide an opportunity to learn through networking and through practice, to meet other international associations and share experience and knowledge to help run the organizations better.
Clara Fernández López, External Relations Manager at UIA, comments further: “Choosing Prague gives us the opportunity to hold the event in a country, which balances the regional presence of UIA with this event. And this is part of the mission of UIA. We look forward to working with Prague Convention Bureau in order to make Round Table 2020 a successful and a joyful event: for associations delegates, and not less for Prague Convention Bureau and for UIA.”
“Annually, the event is attended by approximately 150 participants from all around the world, of which 70 – 80% are associations’ representatives. We are honoured to have a chance to welcome these people involved in running associations at the UIA Associations Round Table here in the Vienna House Diplomat Prague, that is now undergoing an extensive renovation, and introduce them to what the city can offer for their meetings,” says Roman Muška, Managing Director at the Prague Convention Bureau.
Prague will take over the relay after Brussels, where the Round Table is held every other year. The destinations for the next two years of event were also already announced – the 15th Round Table will return to Brussels again and the 16th will go to Rotterdam.
