Technologies In Semiconductors were discussed in Prague

ISPSD Symposium 2016: The 28th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs took place at Žofín Palace in Prague from June 12th to 16th. ISPSD is the premier forum in the field of powerful semiconductor devices, power integrated circuits and their hybrid technologies and applications.

The conference is held regularly every year around the world and once every four years it always takes place in a European city. This year the event was held in Prague and was attended by more than 400 professionals and students.

One of the important roles of the conference was to provide a platform to introduce and educate students and other young researchers in the field of power semiconductors. The organizational team therefore decided to support selected participants and twenty students were awarded a grant, which included free registration and travel assistance support. Participation offered them an opportunity to be exposed to the latest innovations as well as discussions with experienced professionals including ways on how to improve their technical skills.

The conference offered an interesting program, in which 54 lectures and 2 sections were held along with 64 poster presentations. For the first time in history as a response to the record number of abstract submissions, the four-day event expanded into one parallel section. A Sunday Short Course took place with five lectures by distinguished technical experts focused on high performance switches, low parasitic packaging and applications. The conference was also accompanied by an interesting exhibition, covering all aspects relevant to the power semiconductor community.

An interesting social program was also prepared for the participants, which included a welcome dinner at the Občanská Plovárna and a gala dinner in “Art Noveau” at the Municipal House.
