Václav Havel Airport Prague Handles 13 Millionth Passenger

Václav Havel Airport Prague has set a record. Towards the end of the year, the airport exceeded the 13 million serviced passengers mark. The record was set on 30 December 2016 shortly after 9 a.m. Jan Kohoutek, returning to Prague with his fiancée from Istanbul, became the 13 millionth handled passenger of 2016.

After eight years, Prague Airport has thus exceeded the record of 12.6 million handled passengers in 2008.

The increase in the number of handled passengers and the ability to exceed the 13-million mark were also due to a surprisingly high December operation. 812,702 passengers were serviced in the first three weeks of December, representing an 18.7% growth compared to the same period of last year. The last month of the year has thus become the most successful December in the airport’s history.
