Václav Havel Airport Prague Is the Fifth Fastest Growing Airport in Europe in Category of 10-25 Million Dispatched Passengers
In the third quarter of 2017, Václav Havel Airport Prague became the fifth fastest growing airport in Europe in the category of airports handling 10-25 million passengers a year, based on the regular ACI Europe Airport Traffic Report.
The ACI Europe Airport Traffic Report, published by the European office of Airport Council International (ACI), the trade association of the world’s airports, has confirmed the 16.8% year-on-year growth in the number of passengers handled at Václav Havel Airport Prague. The airport’s performance was rewarded by fifth place among the fastest growing airports within its category. Antalya (+56.5%), Ankara (+33.8%), Warsaw (+24.2%) and St. Petersburg (+21.8%) airports ranked higher than Prague.
Václav Havel Airport Prague also achieved interesting results in the last month reviewed. In September 2017, the airport handled a total of 1,612,825 passengers. Compared to the same period of last year, the figure represents a growth of 15.86%. In September, the greatest number of passengers travelled to London, Paris, Moscow, Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
