Prague as the First City in CEE hosts the IUPESM 2018

From June 3 to 8, 2018, the IUPESM 2018 World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering takes place at the Prague Congress Center. This major meeting of medical physicists and biomedical engineers contributes to global awareness of the latest advances in medical technologies and encourage collaboration in science and research.

Today, advances in modern medicine are largely dependent on the development of physical and engineering disciplines and the clinical application of their knowledge. The IUPESM 2018 World Congress serves as a high-level meeting of medical physicists, biomedical engineers and professionally related specialists from other medical professions serves firstly to discuss the latest research results and technological advances in the physical and engineering aspects of medical applications. It also introduces new ideas, both in the field of medical physics and biomedical engineering.

The scientific program consists of many plenary lectures and parallel training sections. The event is attended by around 1700 scientists, health professionals and other experts from around the world. More than 950 lectures and over 800 expert papers are presented in the Prague Congress Centre in the form of electronic posters. World-renowned scientists and specialists will perform in 23 major congress topics. For example, new possibilities of robotic surgery, electronic health records, and multi-electrode field technology for neuroscience and cardiology will be discussed.

The participants of the Congress can also look forward to a social program which includes a gala evening at the Žofín Palace and several awards announcements.

This specialized medical congress is held in different places around the world every three years. Its organizers are always three world-class professional societies (International Federation for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine) along with two specialist companies from the organizing country (in the Czech Republic, the Czech Society for Biomedical Engineering and Medical Informatics Member of Czech Medical Association Jan Evangelista Purkynje and the Czech Society of Physicists in Medicine).
