“Bridge to Prague” Campaign Introduced Congress Prague to International Experts
The Bridge to Prague year-long campaign was launched by the Prague Convention Bureau and ICCA (the International Congress and Convention Association) in November 2016 aiming to introduce Congress Prague to the meetings industry experts who were considering attending the 56th ICCA Congress. It was held in Prague from 12 to 15 November 2017.
Czech Airlines transports 18% more passengers in 2017
In 2017, Czech Airlines transported aboard its aircraft a total of 2.9 million passengers and 9,228 tons of cargo and mail. A total of 2.68 million passengers travelled on Czech Airlines regular scheduled routes, which represents a year‑on‑year improvement of over 18%. Last year, the average load factor on Czech Airlines regular scheduled routes improved year-on-year by 6 percentage points, reaching 81.1%. Czech Airlines operated a fleet of 18 aircraft in 2017.

The Prague Congress Centre welcomed its business partners during Doors Open Day on 8th January 2018
More than 200 business partners came to visit the Prague Congress Centre and they had the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the Prague Congress Centre during the guided tours. They also enjoyed live music and refreshment. The Doors Open Day began at 3 pm and lasted until 6 pm.

Greatest Number of Flights from Václav Havel Airport Prague Head to London This Record Year
Václav Havel Airport Prague achieved a historic record of 15 million handled passengers. The greatest number of passengers, over 64 thousand, passed through airport gates on 23 June 2017. From the airport operations perspective, it was the busies day of the year. During this record year, Prague has been connected with 163 destinations, with Shanghai (8,528km) being the furthest place served by regular scheduled flights from Václav Havel Airport Prague and Munich (266km) being the closest. The Prague – London route has been the most frequented this year. Under the current winter schedule, there are up to 14 flights a day to London from the largest Czech airport with connections to all six London airports offered to passengers.

Zdeněk Kovařík is the new director of the Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre
Zdeněk Kovařík has taken over the management of the Holiday Inn Prague Congress Centre since 1st December 2017. Mr. Kovařík has many years of experience in managing hotel teams not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad. His last employer was the Orea Hotels, where he worked as a general manager of Orea Hotel Voroněž in Brno, Orea Hotel Pyramida in Prague and Orea Spa Hotel Palace Zvon in Mariánské Lázně.
