In 2016, Czech Airlines transported 2.71 million passengers
In 2016, Czech Airlines transported a total of 2.71 million passengers and 8,813 tonnes of mail and shipments aboard its 17-aircraft fleet. 2.26 million passengers used Czech Airlines’ regular scheduled services, representing a year-on-year growth of nearly 13%. An additional 444 thousand passengers were transported by Czech Airlines’ aircraft for other carriers, to whom they leased aircraft.
Airport in Prague Celebrates 80th Anniversary
At the beginning of April, it will be exactly 80 years since the launch of operations of the largest and most modern airport in the Czech Republic. To celebrate the important anniversary, Prague Airport has prepared many surprises for passengers and the general public alike. The year of celebrations will start on 5th April with an anniversary flight on the Prague-Piešťany-Brno-Prague route, followed by an insight into the airport’s future vision.

Prague was ranked fifth in the number of foreign visitors' overnight stays and seventh in the total number of overnight stays, according to the preliminary results of the European Cities Benchmarking Report by European Cities Marketing.

The complex reconstruction of technical equipment of the Prague Congress Centre has been finished. It will cut down the annual operating costs by 30%. The first months have already indicated that the percentage of the savings can be even higher. The reconstruction was done according to the plans in full operation by ENESA.

Prague Welcomed the Largest Number of Events Over the Past Decade
According to the Czech Statistical Office data, Prague welcomed 4,426 conferences in the collective accommodation establishments in 2016 which is one-third of all events held in the Czech Republic. It is an increase of 5.7% compared to 2015, and it also is the largest number of events since 2006. The 2016 conferences organized in Prague attracted 541,412 delegates.
