We Organized Fam Trip for UK Buyers

Prague Convention Bureau organized a fam trip for 10 UK buyers between 31st August and 2nd September. Prague Convention Bureau together with our members and partners prepared a varied programme which included site visits of hotels and venues and wide-range of incentive activities – glass painting at the Manto Gallery, sightseeing boat cruise on the Vltava river, graffiti workshop at the Lennon Wall, old-timer car ride and many other.

The City of Prague declares Grants in the Field of Convention Tourism for 2018

Grants are designated exclusively for supporting convention tourism within the City of Prague. Grants may only be awarded for conventions of 700 or more attendees who are to spend at least two nights in Prague and 60% of whom are from abroad.

Czech Airlines transport results for H1 2017: +22% passengers with average seat load factor of 81%

In the first six months of this year, Czech Airlines transported on its regular scheduled routes a total of 1.174 million passengers, which represents a year-on-year improvement of nearly 22%, as the carrier transported a total of 963 thousand passengers during the same period of the previous year. Czech Airlines was also able to keep its aircraft fuller. In the first half of the year, the average load factor reached 81%, which is a year-on-year improved result of 11%.

AMERICAN AIRLINES LAUNCHES NEW SERVICE

Beginning May 4th, the world’s largest airline will launch new scheduled services between Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) and its Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) hub. The new service will provide more than 2,800 seats per week between the two cities, throughout the summer season.

1.2 Million More Passengers Pass through Gates of Václav Havel Airport Prague in H1 2017

During the first half of the year, Václav Havel Airport Prague has again recorded record growth. In the first half of 2017, Václav Havel Airport Prague handled a total of 6,764,752 passengers while during the same period of the previous year, the airport serviced almost 1.2 million fewer passengers. The greatest number of passengers used direct connections around Europe and a big year-on-year growth was recorded on flights between Prague and Africa and also on flights to the Near and Far East.

THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF PROTISTOLOGY IS RETURNING TO PRAGUE

At the turn of July and August, the OREA Hotel Pyramida Prague will host the 15th International Congress of Protistology. The research of protists has a long tradition in the Czech Republic as the first congress of the ICOP series took place in Prague in 1957. We are happy that after 60 years the congress is coming back to place where it all began.

Prague to Have More Frequencies to Shanghai and New Long-Haul Connection to China with Xi’an Route

China Eastern Airlines, a Chinese air carrier, has launched ticket sales for its new route which will connect Václav Havel Airport Prague with Xi’an in central China. Xi’an will become the fourth Chinese destination, alongside Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu, with a direct scheduled connection from/to Václav Havel Airport Prague. The first flight to the new destination is planned for Sunday, 29 October 2017. The carrier will also increase the number of its connections to Shanghai from the current three to four weekly services.
