Reopened Oscar's Bar in Prague's Smichov Attracts with Wildlife-Inspired Design

The Oscar's bar in Prague, which is part of the Vienna House Andel's Prague hotel, has undergone a complete renovation. The aim was to open a modern establishment in Prague's Smíchov district, where hotel guests and working people in the surrounding offices will feel comfortable. They can visit the bar for a business meeting, combined with lunch, or for a drink after work. The interior design was completed by the Jestico+Whiles architectural studio, the studio that was behind the original design of the hotel, which opened in 2002.

With its signature, the Czech Convention Bureau has joined the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative and has committed to follow the goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030 and achieving a "net zero" by 2050 in meetings and incentive tourism activities in the Czech Republic.

The reconstruction of the Industrial Palace has begun

Reconstruction has finally arrived for the Industrial Palace, the dominant feature of Výstaviště Praha (Prague Exhibition Grounds), 13 years after a destructive fire. Prague’s Historic Alcron Becomes First in Almanac X Hotel Collection

One of Prague’s landmark hotels – the 204-room Alcron, just off Wenceslas Square – is to be refurbished and re-launched as the Almanac X Prague. It will be the first in a collection of prestige hotels owned by Vienna-based WSF Group, whose Almanac Hotel in Barcelona is already a favourite among Catalonia’s current crowd.

Prague Congress Centre to host informal EU Council meeting during the Czech EU Presidency in 2022

The Prague Congress Centre (PCC) will be the venue for informal meetings of the EU Councils. Fourteen such meetings will take place in the Czech Republic during the Czech EU Presidency. The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic chose the PCC because of the extensive experience of the centre's team in organising top political events and ensuring the security aspects of the meetings.

Prague Councillors Approved Modification of Tourist Tax. Czech Capital Can Receive More Funds to Cultivate Tourism

In the Czech capital city, a modified decree on the local accommodation fee has been in effect since the beginning of 2022, The new form was approved by the Prague City Assembly, and it is based on a memorandum that Prague signed with the Association of Hotels and Restaurants of the Czech Republic and with the Prague City Tourism municipal company last November. By increasing the local tourism tax from the current CZK 21 to CZK 50, Prague will receive the funds necessary to fulfil its long-term vision of cultivated and sustainable tourism, the development of the city as an attractive destination for meetings, conferences or exhibitions, and the promotion of the city abroad.
