Together Stronger for #WeMakeEvents

To highlight that the live events sector urgently needs support from governments to survive the COVID-19 crisis, September 30th marked a Global Action Day, communicated worldwide under the hashtag #WeMakeEvents.

Over 20 countries around the world joined the initiative with companies lighting up their venues in red. 2,500 venues in total supported #LightItInRed alongside unique shafts of light, projections and art installations. In Prague itself, more than 30 companies got involved, including the largest Prague conference centres and venues such as O2 universum, Prague Congress Centre (in cooperation with AV media), Cubex Centre Prague or Žofín Palace.

Prague Convention Bureau’s team wore red on the day to join symbolically the event and raise awareness about the challenges meetings industry is facing nowadays. Simultaneously, the Czech Event Association (Česká eventová asociace) plans to follow up on this global initiative with a local project to show how devastating a future without events would be for the Czech economics, education and employment.
