Czech Airlines Celebrates 95th Anniversary with Special Round Trips
This year, Cezch Airlines commemorate the 95th anniversary of the company’s foundation and launch of operations. The first flight on the Prague – Bratislava route departed Prague/Kbely airport on 29 October 1923 at 12:35 pm. However, the original plan was very different. The Bratislava flight should have been handled a day earlier, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the foundation of Czechoslovakia. The weather on 28 October 1923 foiled the plans. Therefore, instead of the originally planned flight, Czech Airlines only performed a symbolic flight around Kbely.
Sichuan Airlines to Launch a New Route to Zurich and Aeroflot to Increase Number of Flights from Prague to Moscow
A Russian air carrier, Aeroflot, will increase the number of its flights between Prague and Moscow-Sheremetyevo, during the 2018 summer season. Sichuan Airlines, a Chinese air carrier, has launched ticket sales for its new service from Václav Havel Airport Prague to Zurich, Switzerland.
Czechoslovak Inspiration in MICE
Educational seminar “Czechoslovak Inspiration in MICE” took place on Tuesday, April 5 in the Lobkowicz Palace at the Prague Castle. The event, annually held by Prague Convention Bureau, commemorated the 10th anniversary of the organization and also the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. The seminar was moderated by Petr Klymec, founder and CEO of 360° Travel Trends conference.
Multifunctional Congress and Cultural Centre O2 universum is being built in Prague
New multifunctional and congress centre is being built in Prague. Bestsport company which owns and operates the O2 arena will construct a complex in so-called “small arena.” The centre will be named O2 universum. The construction budget is about 1.2 billion CZK.
The Prague Congress Centre was awarded the Czech Business Superbrands 2018
The Prague Congress Centre has been awarded the recognized Czech Business Superbrands 2018 award in March 2018, which is awarded according to predefined attributes such as brand awareness, branding, innovation, or prestige. For the Prague Congress Centre this award means a reward for long-lasting and consistent efforts to develop the whole company.
Prague Convention Bureau has been helping event organizers for ten years
The Prague Convention Bureau was founded on 3rd April 2008 to strengthen the positive awareness of Prague as an ideal congress destination and, through effective assistance to foreign and local event organizers, to support the economic development of the Czech capital. This non-profit organization celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. Over the last ten years, the Prague Convention Bureau has participated in acquiring more than 630 events with the attendance of almost 293,000 delegates. They have generated a total of 620 thousand roomnights worth more than 1.2 billion Czech crowns (€ 47.5 million).

Prague airport announces new direct routes to Berlin, Yerevan and more frequencies to Dubai and Yekaterinburg
With the start of the 2018 summer season, Ural Airlines, a Russian air carrier, increases the number of flights offered on its route between Václav Havel Airport Prague and Yekaterinburg to up to four weekly connections, operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays by Airbus A320s and A321s with the capacity of 160 and 220 passengers respectively.

Prague Convention Bureau organized a fam trip for 10 UK buyers between 23rd and 25th March. Prague Convention Bureau together with our members and partners prepared a varied programme which included site visits of hotels, venues and incentive activities – Prague sightseeing, violin lesson for beginners, iPad Rally, visiting the traditional beerhouse and other.
